Best Places to Visit During Umrah

Apart from the holy pilgrim, that will be covered under the Umrah package 2025 at a cost-effective price. You will also get 1zto to see manifold places to visit in Madinah during Umrah and in Makkah also. That’s the reason, go through the list of places covered in Umrah with holiday packages.

  • Masjid-Al Haram: Also known as the Great Mosque of Makkah, Al-Masjid Al-Haram is one of the largest mosques in the world which encompasses the Kaaba in Makkah. It’s considered one of the significant locales to visit when one intends to perform Umrah since, at the core of this mosque, devotees bow before their Lord Allah with their faces directed to the Kaaba. In fact, people begin the performing of Umrah, which is one of the Islamic pilgrimages from this place. The most crucial ritual among the acts of worship carried out at this pilgrimage is tawaf, which is one of the most auspicious responsibilities toward God that every Muslim can embark on during the Umrah.
  • Jabal al-Nour: An impotently called either as Hill of Illumination or Mountain of Light, Jabal al-Nour is associated with a grotto called Gar-e-Hira. According to the literature of Islam, it is the center where the initial Quranic addresses from Allah, with the help of the angel Jibreel, were conveyed to the Prophet Muhammad. This is why Hira Cave is among the most worthwhile places that need to be visited on a voyage to Umrah.
  • Mount Arafat: Sometimes referred to as Mount of Mercy or Jabal al-Rahmah, Arafat Mountain is a significant site for Muslims involved in the hajj journey. This is the area where those people who come for pilgrimage worship Allah and carry out some special acts.
  • Jannat-al-Mu’alla: Certainly, there are numerous other sites, but one of the most important for Muslims is the Jannat-al-Mu’alla, and it is the tomb of many of the prophet’s ancestors and relatives. It is highly situated to the north of Al-Masjid Al-Haram, and one can cover a distance of about one kilometer in fifteen minutes on foot. This cemetery is rather popular among people because it is a traditional burial ground and there are many souls that need to be honored and respected.
  • Masjid-e-Ayesha: Masjid-e-Aisha, or Masjid e Taneem, is the second-largest mosque in this Holy city of Makkah and is one of the oldest buildings in the city of Makkah, which places it on the ‘must-see list’ for any pilgrim undertaking umrah pilgrimage. These sites are located near one of the most sacred places on earth, the Kaaba. Here one can put on Ihram which is a cube-shaped cloth without any seams to be worn by pilgrims.
  • Mina: ‘City of Tents’, or the City of Mina, is provisional accommodation that is provided to the hajj performers in air-conditioned tents. This hotel is strategically located near the Masjid-al-Haram and this makes it very possible to visit during the Umrah pilgrimage.
  • Masjid-e-Nabawi: It is a stunning mosque situated in the holy city of Madinah, and after the Umrah pilgrimage, people must visit this glorious structure of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi. Altogether, according to Islamic culture, this place is regarded as the burial place of Prophet Muhammad.
  • It is one of the largest mosques in the world, and it has the capability to host millions of people who come to perform Tawaf. Offering prayer at this holy mosque is among the most recommendable activities that any Individual could engage in during Umrah.
  • Masjid-al-Quba: The Quba Mosque is found in the outskirts of Madinah in KSA, and it is the first mosque that was built in the history of Islam. This mosque receives a mammoth number of visitors all year through, and it is one of the most prominent sites to be visited while in Umrah. It is also the second-biggest mosque in the holy city, and during the fasting month of Ramadan, literary and cultural activities take place here in large numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

A. Istilam means to place one’s face between both hands and kiss the Black Stone (Hajr-e-Aswad). If due to crowding it’s not possible to kiss it directly, then one may touch it with the hand or with a stick and kiss the hand or point towards it and then kiss the hands — this gesture is also called Istilam. It is narrated from Hazrat Zubair ibn Umar that a man once asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (RA) about kissing the Black Stone, to which he replied: "I have seen the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) doing Istilam and kissing it."

A. Raml refers to walking briskly with short, quick steps and slightly shaking the shoulders during the first three rounds of Tawaf, imitating the style of strong and brave individuals. It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (RA) that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed Tawaf of the Kaaba, he would do Raml in the first three circuits, and then walk normally in the remaining four.

A. Iztibaa is the act of placing the upper sheet (chadar) of Ihram under the right arm and over the left shoulder in such a way that the right shoulder remains uncovered. This is done before starting Tawaf. It is narrated from Hazrat Ya’la (RA) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed Tawaf in the state of Iztibaa, and he had a cloth over him during this act. After doing Iztibaa, one should face the Kaaba and proceed towards the Black Stone (Hajr-e-Aswad) from the right side until one is directly in front of it. Then the person makes the intention (niyyah) for Tawaf.

A. Nafl Tawaf is the optional (voluntary) Tawaf that any sane person can perform during their stay in Makkah, without being bound by specific timings. It can be done once or multiple times, at any time. In Nafl Tawaf, Ramal (walking briskly in the first three rounds) and Ittiba (placing the upper garment under the right arm and over the left shoulder) are not required, and there is no condition of wearing Ihram. For an Afaqi (a traveler from outside the Meeqat), performing Nafl Tawaf is more virtuous than offering Nafl Salah (optional prayer). However, for the residents of Makkah, offering Salah is considered more virtuous than performing Tawaf — but this ruling is specifically for the Hajj season, to avoid crowding and to make space for the Afaqis. Otherwise, Nafl Tawaf is considered better.

A. Tawaf-e-Wida (also called Tawaf-e-Sadr) is the farewell Tawaf performed at the time of leaving the House of Allah (Baitullah). In this Tawaf, there is no Raml, no Sa’i, and no Iztiba. It is wajib (obligatory) for those coming from outside the Meeqat boundaries (i.e., Aafaqi).

A. Tawaf-e-Ziyarah is a fundamental pillar (Rukn) of Hajj. Since it is performed after Qurbani (sacrifice), Halq (shaving the head) or Taqsir (trimming the hair), and after removing the Ihram to wear regular clothes, the act of Iztiba (uncovering the right shoulder) is not observed in this Tawaf. This Tawaf can be performed any time from the morning of 10th Dhul-Hijjah (after Subh Sadiq) until sunset on the 12th of Dhul-Hijjah. However, performing it on the 10th is considered best. After completing Tawaf-e-Ziyarah, all restrictions of Ihram come to an end.
